Introduction to Care at Northcrest
An introduction to care at Northcrest Care Centre begins with our professional team composed of a Social Worker, Nurses and our Director of Care who work closely together to develop individual care plans for each new resident. Northcrest Care Centre employs a system where regular care team meetings are held to consistently re-evaluate the changing needs of residents in our care. Our philosophy of care ensures that each resident receives the best care possible and that each resident is treated with dignity and compassion. Our experienced team members are sensitive to each resident’s individual social, spiritual and emotional needs respecting the importance of tact, confidentiality and the need for personal privacy and space.
Northcrest Care Centre is a complex care facility providing care for residents requiring all levels of assistance and also provides a haven for Seniors where residents can live comfortably when daily care and living needs change.
Northcrest Care Centre’s contemporary décor compliments the facility’s abundance of natural lighting. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and tall evergreens, Northcrest features several spacious sunrooms and secured patios for the enjoyment of our residents. Northcrest is also has a beautiful private patio where Residents can participate in gardening and you can commonly find us BBQing the warmer months of the year.
Northcrest Recreation
Our active recreational department motivates our residents to experience the many social and entertaining activities we have to offer. Our recreational department programs activities for Residents requiring every care level and provides companionship to motivate residents that are interested in one-on-one activity. Our busy recreation calendar allows our residents to become involved with group outings, art lessons, bus trips, swimming, celebrations and much more.
Delicious Meals from our Dietary Department
The Dietary Department at Northcrest has a 4 week seasonal menu that incorporates a special South Asian Menu that meets the needs of our Vegan and South Asian clients. Each floor at Northcrest is supplied with appetizing nourishment daily including a variety of baked goods, in house milkshakes and beverages. For special diet requests a Dietitian is available three times a week to review dietary requirements as needs arise. All special events are catered by the Dietary Department including our annual Open House every December.
Complex Care Units at Northcrest
Northcrest Care Centre is home to Dogwood and Trillium, our largest and identical units that feature 58-beds for residents requiring daily care and assistance. Camellia Court is our 28-bed secured special care unit for residents who are at risk due to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and “The Primrose Path” is our 20-bed Transitional Care Unit for rehab care following hospital discharge.

Palliative Care for our residents who require care and comfort in the last stages of life
